Ludonarrative dissonance refers to the conflict between the video game narrative and the game play whereas ludonarrative resonance is about the connection between the game play and narrative within a video game. I will talk more about ludonarrative dissonance and a game that strongly shows this feature
An example of ludonarrative dissonance within a video game is the game "Bioshock" where the narrative followed along the moral line of selflessness where as the game play lead you to have a higher self interest and look after yourself before helping others. This is ludonarrative dissonance because the narrative of the story line of "Bioshock" is about freedom and power where as the game play reflects a different path in order to gain power you need to only think about yourself and not about others without considering others.
The bioshock narrative and game play clash resulting in ludonarrative dissonance although even because of this the game "Bioshock" is still a highly successful game with high ratings from multiple reviews and winning "VGX Award for Game of the Year".
